The Holy Spirit’s Early Appearance

The Holy Spirit appeared at the Baptism of Christ Jesus, as a dove descending upon the Son of God, while the Father spoke from Heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased,” (Matthew 3:17)

At a later time, Jesus breathed on the apostles, and said to them, “Receive ye the Holy Ghost,” (John 20:22).

Today, how do you and I receive the Holy Spirit? Simple: “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost,” (Acts 2:38).

Amen.

P.S. Pastor Gray loves to preach about the Holy Spirit, who is sometimes also called, “The Holy Ghost.” Come to church any Sunday at 11:00 a.m. to experience worship that welcomes the Holy Spirit. Not fancy. Not modern. Just straight and true.

New verse each day!

SUBJECT: Holy Spirit

BIBLE VERSE: Then Peter said unto them, 'Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.' (Acts 2:38)

COMMENT: The Apostle tells us how to gain the favor of God, in the name of Jesus Christ -- REPENT -- CHANGE YOUR WAYS FROM BEING SELF-CENTERED TO BEING GOD-CENTERED IN CHRIST JESUS; and then you shall receive the Holy Ghost within you!

PRAYER: Jesus -- I have repented from being self-centered, and I desire to put You first everyday, in every way, forever and ever. Amen.

AMEN
